Emily Richards earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in the Health Professions Program at College of the Holy Cross. Upon graduation, she completed two years as a Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). At NIH, she worked in the Pain and Integrative Neuroscience Branch of the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH). There she studied the neural correlates that underlie pain processing and modulation. She joined the Brain Aging & Cognitive Health Lab in November 2017. Her research interests include investigating ways to implement exercise to promote healthy brain aging and reverse detrimental cognitive decline. Emily plans to apply to dental school with matriculation in Fall 2019. In her free time, Emily enjoys swimming, playing volleyball, and spending time with her family and friends.
